Quran Competition

The annual Quran competition at our school is a cherished event, celebrating the Islamic academic growth of our students from grades K-8. This competition is not only a testament to the dedication and hard work of our students but also emphasizes the importance of instilling a deep connection with the Quran from a young age. By participating, students enhance their memorization, recitation, and understanding of the Quran, fostering a lifelong appreciation for its teachings. This event brings our school community together, reinforcing our shared values and commitment to nurturing well-rounded, knowledgeable, and devout individuals.

The Annual Quran Competition has become a cornerstone of TIS, reflecting our commitment to nurturing our youth. This development is pivotal in shaping our young people into agents of positive change within both the Muslim community and the broader American society, grounded in a correct and ideal understanding of Islamic teachings and moral values. Our students compete, showcasing their exceptional talent and God-given gift of Quran memorization and recitation.

Their participation exemplifies their dedication to spreading the message of peace and harmony embodied in the words of the Almighty (SWT). We invite all community members to support and contribute to this honorable cause, and we look forward to your presence and encouragement for our students. Why are we hosting this Quran Competition?

Our goal is to attract students who are motivated to continually memorize the Quran and perfect their Tajweed to compete to in order to excel!

Competition Rules
**Participants must be registered at TIS and attend school.

Quran teacher will provide the surahs/juzuus that will be included the competition.
Participants are responsible for reviewing their assigned surahs/juzuus.
For further information, you may contact the school.
The contestant cannot participate in the same level as they competed in the previous years and won.
Participants cannot participate in more than one level of the competition.
The competition is open to all ages and genders.

Judging

Participants' competition grade is comprised of 75% for memorization and 25% for recitation.
If any contestant scores less than 60/100 in the total score he/she will automatically be disqualified.
The competition will be held at the school during the Quran class time.

GOALS

Stress the importance of the Book of Allah SWT in memorization, Tajweed, and Tilawah.
Provide an appropriate educational environment for students who are goal driven to excel in the memorization and Tajweed of the Holy Quran.
To promote the Quranic education in the Muslim-American community.
To highlight the role of the Muslim Societies in providing an encouraging environment for Islamic educational activities.
To develop Quranic spiritual, mental, and performing skills of the young Muslim generation.
To boost the spirit of positive competition among members of the Muslim American Community in caring for the Holy Quran.

Quran Competition
