Assalamu Alaikum, My name is Amanda Webster. I have been Tawheed Islamic School’s Title 1 Tutor since 2019, a position provided by Wayne Township Non-Public Schools. Before becoming a tutor, I built over 17 years of experience as a classroom teacher at 3 other local Islamic schools. I guess you could say that my passion and dream is to establish solid, full-time Islamic education for our community and the future of our Ummah, InshaAllah I came to Indianapolis in 1990 and have raised my 5 children here. They have attended both public and local Islamic schools. Between 1992 and 2002 I taught full time as a homeroom teacher in 1st, 2nd and 5th grades, and part time Arabic and Quran, Art teacher and 7th-8th grade Literature teacher at Madrasa-tul-Ilm , Indianapolis. For 5 years I served as a substitute teacher with the Plainfield Community School Corp. and then taught 1st and 2nd grade at Eman Elementary in Fishers from 2006-2008. Alhamdulillah, I graduated from IUPUI School of Education in 2014 and currently hold 2 licenses from the State of Indiana in Elementary Education and Teaching English as a New Language. After graduating, I immediately returned to Islamic Education teaching 3rd Grade at MTI and then 2nd and 3rd Grades combined for 4 years at Legacy Learning Center.
